KITCHEN/LIVING/DINING. Screened sliding glass doors run the entire length of the great room on the south side of the villa, while on the north side there is a screened wall. This allows the cooling trade winds to soothingly circulate throughout the great room and give it a delightful open air feeling. There is a garden patio with teak furniture outside the screened wall. Inside, the living area features an upholstered wicker sectional sofa and artwork by local artists, and a flat screen TV and DVD plus a stereo.

Agave was designed for people who love to dine in a beautiful and romantic setting. The premier dining spot, complete with exquisite views, is the octagonal (west) gazebo with a teak table for 6 – 8 and upholstered chairs. The table for 4 - 6 under the pool (east) gazebo also enjoys excellent views, while the garden patio is a favorite spot for a peaceful morning coffee. For your convenience, two barbeque grills are located on the deck. Should you choose to dine inside, there is a dining table in the great room that seats 6 – 8.

The kitchen features custom mahogany cabinets with tiled countertops, a 4-burner gas stove with ventilator hood and oven, a microwave oven, a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, a rice cooker, blender, coffee maker and grinder, plenty of cookware and dinnerware and much more, including dinnerware for poolside dining. The laundry room downstairs has a large capacity washer and dryer.

BEDROOMS. The four large master bedrooms all have travertine marble floors, a/c, ceiling fans, iPod clock radios and tiled bathrooms with custom vanities. Bedroom 1 is on the upper level with a vaulted ceiling and a king bed. Bedroom 2 has a 14’ x 20’ sliding glass door that opens to a balcony, and a king bed plus a sofa. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed and an unusual octagonal shape with five large windows viewing Hart Bay and the colorful landscape. Bedroom 4 has French doors onto the breezeway and has two twins beds that can be converted to a king.

CARIBBEAN VILLAS COMMENTS. The owners of Blue Agave have been renting on St. John for many years, all the time collecting ideas and carefully planning their own dream vacation home. In April of 2009 a complete remodel, rebuild and refurnishing of Blue Agave was finished and it now has the look and feel of a new home. The result is a well designed and furnished, essentially new vacation villa that is attractive, livable and lovable. A summary of the features we like most includes;

• The Location. This is a very convenient, premiere location in one of St John’s classic residential neighborhoods. You’re tucked into a peaceful and quiet hillside with clothing optional privacy, yet you’re only a short (5 – 10 minutes) drive to the Westin Resort and Cruz Bay.
  
• The Views. Blue Agave was built on a small hillside promontory that provides 180 degree views that extend from east to west and include four plus bays, St Croix, St. Thomas and boats and harbors. The gorgeous 12-month a year sunset views are not to be missed, and the partial exposure to the east insures gentle but cooling trade winds.
• The Sun and Shade Factor. With a 25 x 15 foot pool, a spacious deck, all day sun and full body tanning, this is definitely a house for sunshine and pool lovers. For those who prefer to stay out of the sun, the two gazebos allow you to read, relax, and enjoy the superb views and the soothing trade winds without being in the sun. .
• It’s wired. The wireless DSL provides a good connection in the house and on the deck, and every bedroom has an iPod dock. So bring the laptops and iPods.
• It’s flexible, including wedding parties. Blue Agave is comfortable and large enough for 8 people, and the pricing and the floor plan easily accommodates couples and families. Although most homes do not permit wedding parties, small weddings of not more than 24 persons are permitted at Blue Agave.
