LOCATION. As the name implies, Cliffside is located on a cliff overlooking the entrance to Chocolate Hole Harbor. Cliffside is located on the same side of the harbor as its 4-bedroom neighbors, Ciellodonna and Beach Music. This is the last house on a long private drive, and with only one abutting neighbor, Cliffside offers a peaceful and seemingly away-from-it-all hideaway where the silence is broken only by the sounds of waves gently breaking on the shore below you. A private path (a challenging 3-4 minute hike) leads to some very good snorkeling, swimming and kayaking in the calm 82 degree waters below you. To the east, sailboats float peacefully on a sparkling turquoise sea, while to the south St. Croix is often visible on the horizon. This is a sun lover’s villa with sun on your decks almost all day. It’s a 5 - 10 minute drive into Cruz Bay, and the spa, fitness facility and beach at the Westin Resort is on the way into town..

DESIGN. Cliffside is a one level villa with wall to wall screened windows and glass doors that provide beautiful harbor and ocean views. The great room runs the full length of the house and the two bedrooms are off the great room. There is a sun deck off the south side of the great room and stairs lead down to the pool, sundeck and hot tub that overhang the emerald waters of Chocolate Hole Harbor.

LIVING ROOM. Walls of glass combine with cathedral ceilings, Caribbean artwork, tiled floors and floral wicker furniture to create a very relaxing seaside environment. A 32" flat screen cable TV/DVD, stereo with AM/FM/CD and Wi-Fi provide the electronic entertainment.

KITCHEN/DINING.You may dine overlooking the Harbor at the interior rattan table seating 4, or outside on the patio at the table for 4 or on the pool deck. The white tiled kitchen is modern and well equipped with a 4 burner gas stove and oven located in a center island, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, toaster and all the necessary dinnerware and cookware. A telephone, washer/dryer and gas BBQ are included.

BEDROOMS. The master bedroom (king bed) has a water view and is tastefully furnished with a mahogany and tile master bath. The master bedroom opens to a small deck. The guest bedroom has twin beds (2 twins that convert to a king) and a newly installed private bath with shower. Both bedrooms are cooled by ceiling fans and the master also opens through screened doors to the refreshing trade winds.

CARIBBEAN VILLAS' COMMENTS. Because the National Park includes offshore reefs and undersea life, St. John offers some of the finest snorkeling in the Caribbean, and the waters below Cliffside are a good spot to warm up for your snorkel excursions. However, if you prefer just hanging out in the Caribbean sun and "limin" in a comfortable villa in an ultra scenic location, you'll love this seaside villa. Cliffside was remodeled in 1998-99, and a delightful pool, sundeck and hot tub were added, as well as a new kitchen and interior furnishings. The end result is an enchanting villa that is ideal for a couple or small family. The pool and its sundeck seem to overhang the harbor, and the hot tub sits right on the edge of a cliff. At night the hot tub is an out of this world spot to gaze at the stars and to watch moon beams dance on the waves, almost directly below you. During the day the pool is also a wonderful spot to appreciate the fact that you’re on vacation, a world away from your other life.
Because of the intimate and thoroughly romantic character of Cliffside, we highly recommend this villa for honeymooners and lovers. If Cliffside is unavailable, Island Time is another intensely romantic villa that is also highly recommended for lovers.
