LOCATION. Fish Beach is located on the Fish Bay side of the peninsula that separates Fish Bay from Reef Bay, on the south shore of St John. Fish Beach is located just below Elysium (formerly named Coco Beach). Both these homes enjoy a private and quiet location on a side road that is off the dead end road that goes to Reef Bay. Much of the Reef Bay/Fish Bay peninsula is National Park and it’s a 5 – 10 minute hike through parklands to a little known white sand, National Park beach (Cocolobo), where you are likely to be the only people on the beach. You also have use of the homeowner’s association dingy dock for swimming and snorkeling, and because this bay is a breeding ground for sea life you may see sea turtles and other interesting reef fish in and around Fish Bay.
Fish Beach sits about 60 feet up the eastern hill that overlooks Fish Bay. It faces south-southwest with views of Fish Bay, gentle tropical breezes and all day sun. This tranquil location also provides enough privacy for discreet “tan anywhere” sunbathing. Cruz Bay is a 10 – 15 minute drive on paved roads, except for ½ mile of dirt road in Fish Bay.

DESIGN. Fish Beach is a 2400+ sq/ft, 2+ level villa that incorporates many design features found in top quality villas, such as antique brick patios, travertine flooring, French roof tiles, a coral stone pool deck, a pool and hot tub, central a/c and a gourmet kitchen.
You park on the upper level and enter into the great room which contains the kitchen, a dining area, the living area, plus a full bath and laundry area. Screened sliding glass doors from the living area open to a wrap around antique brick covered deck with views of the pool, Fish Bay and beyond. Exterior brick stairs lead down to the lower level where there are two bedrooms, two baths and another wrap around brick deck. The 20’ x 10’ pool is six steps below the bedrooms and is surrounded by a 400 sq. ft. coral stone (non skid) sun deck with teak deck furniture, and sun from morning until late in the afternoon. A soothing hot tub is set amid the tropical gardens above the pool. This is a great villa for sun lovers, but the covered decks also allow you to relax outside in the shade while keeping an eye on the kids in the pool.

There is also a 20” flat screen TV with DVD and premium HD satellite television that includes HBO and Showtime. There is a gas grill on the deck and you may dine either inside at the table for four or on the covered deck at a teak table for 4 – 6.

Cocolobo Beach
CARIBBEAN VILLAS' COMMENTS.  Fish Beach was completed in May of 2009.  It is part of a small neighborhood of recently built rental and residential villas on the Fish Bay side of the peninsula that separates Fish Bay from Reef Bay. Most of the land southeast of Fish Beach is National Park, so this setting remains quiet and peaceful.
Fish Beach is very similar in design to its neighbor Elysium (formerly named Coco Beach), which is located just up the hill from Fish Beach. Both villas are a short distance from a path that leads to an “off the beaten path” small National Park beach called Cocolobo. To get to Cocolobo Beach, a trail takes you through the National Park to the southern tip of the peninsula. You then walk east along the shore until you come to a small and secluded sand beach (Cocolobo). There’s no parking for this beach, it’s a 5 – 10 minute hike into it, the trailhead is poorly marked and the beach is hidden from everyone except boaters and hikers. Some of St John’s little known secrets should remain that way – little known, so we’ll only tell you how to find the trailhead if you’re a Fish Beach or Elysium guest. If you are a guest, on a calm morning go to Cocolobo Beach for a breakfast swim and snorkel and you’ll find yourself in turquoise waters, on a small Caribbean beach, alone. The snorkeling can be very good and you may see some bigger fish, but be aware of the current around Cocolobo Cay.
As for Fish Beach, this is another fine St John home built for stress free comfort. There’s certainly not a lot of traffic out here, so this hillside home retains a relaxing sense of serenity and peacefulness. With its central a/c, pool, hot tub, coral stone sun deck, and some tan everywhere privacy, this is an excellent choice as a romantic retreat for honeymooners or lovers. This is also a good home for a small family or 2 couples who value that away from it all feeling.
